Pergola Replacement

This is a good example of what happens to your pergola when it collects water over the years and it’s built with un-treated wood . Over time this pergola had been collecting water between the two outside beams that had been sealed by a base plate. The beams were literally being held together with paint. The inside of the beams had turned to dust making the demo really easy. After securing the structure we methodically removed and replaced each beam with pressure treated lumber. We also modified the design so that water can now drain freely between the beams.
